The following are the most damaging for your new smile: coffee, tea, red wine, carbonated sugary drinks, dark sauces (e.g. curry or soy), heavily pickled foods and sweets – sorry, we know they’re tempting! You’ll be pleased to know that after  24 hours, you can relax a little and resume your normal diet. However, it is important to keep in mind what meals may be more damaging to your teeth and what you can do to prevent this damage.

Whitening toothpaste is often recommended by dentists as a safe way to look after your pearly whites at home and we would fully advocate this. Alongside this, flossing and mouthwash can also be used to ensure the best oral hygiene.

A clever trick to enhance your smile is to wear bright lipstick, we would recommend either a striking blue or a bold pink. These contrast perfectly with the brilliant white of your teeth and emphasise your smile.

Following our advice should ensure you smile brightly for many years to come, however, sometimes teeth can still pick up stains despite your best efforts. If this is the case, the best way to keep your teeth white is to book another appointment. We are always happy to visit you for a touch-up to keep you smiling with confidence.
